Darien Proclamation at Reunion'99

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the alumni of Cherry Lawn School, founded in Stamford in 1915 and moved to Darien in 1920, is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the school in Darien; and

WHEREAS, the Cherry Lawn School was one of the first co-educational boarding schools in America; and WHEREAS, Cherry Lawn School had a long history of excellence in its faculty, administration and student body; and

WHEREAS, Cherry Lawn School was an asset in Darien for over 52 years from 1920 to 1972

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert F. Harrel, Jr. First Selectman of the Town of Darien, Connecticut, do hereby proclaim July 25, 1999 to be CHERRY LAWN SCHOOL DAY Dated this 25th day of July 1999 at Darien, Connecticut.
